Points to be noted
- Make sure that
- required license and roles are assigned: see Prerequisites
- printers are registered and shared
- Client VM (the VM to which Universal Print printers will be added and testing will be performed)
- Client VM OS must be windows client OS (i.e. Windows 10, Windows 11 etc.)
- Windows Server VMs cannot be used
- The user must have either of the following roles to the client VM
- “Virtual Machine Administrator Login” role
- “Virtual Machine User Login” role

Universal Printers in Client VM
- If all setting are done properly & all dependencies are fulfilled the Printers from Azure Universal print should show up in the VM as if it is connected to VM directly
- In taskbar search “Printers” and Universal Printers will show up
Printing from Client VM
- Now you can print from VM as if printers are connected to VM
- Open any document > ctrl + p > print
