Azure Universal Print Signup Process

Subscription used for PoC

Microsoft 365 Business Premium is used for Universal Print Proof of Concept (PoC)
See: Elligible Microsoft 365 Subscriptions
FYI, I had a problem to signup from Japan, so I used Surfshark VPN to connect to USA

Easiest way to signup for Microsoft 365 Business Premium

In order to sign up for M365 subscription, we can not use personal email i.e. xyz@outlook.com
Sign up for Azure free trial using xyz@outlook.com email
Azure portal > Azure Active Directory
Users > Add user i.e. “abc@xyz.onmicrosoft.com”
Users > select newly created user ‘abc@xyz.onmicrosoft.com’ > Assigned roles
Add assignment > Global Administrator
Sign out from Azure portal > sign in again with “abc@xyz.onmicrosoft.com”
It will ask for changing password
Stay sign in in Azure portal as “abc@xyz.onmicrosoft.com”
Go to: Microsoft 365 Business plan > Get started / try
It will show “you are signed in with “abc@xyz.onmicrosoft.com” > continue

Microsoft documentation says that the preview of Universal Print (as of January, 2021) cannot be used with a Trial Microsoft 365 subscription
If you are using trial, you need to be a Global admin to make changes to your Microsoft 365 subscription
End free trial & activate Microsoft 365 Business Premium (so that we can use Universal Print)
- Microsoft 365 Admin Center
- Subscription in Microsoft 365 Admin Center (if you are already logged in to Admin portal)
Check that free trial is ended and Microsoft 365 Business Premium is activated (monthly or yearly)

- Go to: Universal Print trial
- Click Sign in (make sure have an eligible subscription already -> we did in previous step)
- On the checkout, click Try now, then click Continue
Microsoft 365 Admin Center
- Sign into the Microsoft 365 Admin Center
- Navigate to Billing > Purchase services
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Add-ons
- Select Universal Print Trial > ‘Get free trial’
- in Check out “Try now” > Continue
